PRODUCER:

Sínodo Vitivinícola is a boutique winery project founded by three friends and enologists—Juan Antonio Blanco, Roberto Monforte, and Gorka Etxebarria—in the Rioja region of Spain. They met while studying Enology at the University of La Rioja and later decided to use their families’ vineyards to produce their own unique wines. The name «Sínodo» comes from the Greek word «synodos,» meaning «the same path,» reflecting their shared journey in winemaking.

The winery focuses on small-scale production, allowing meticulous control over the process from vineyard to bottle. Their vineyards include Raposeras, Los Tollos, and Centales in Uruñuela, most of which are small, family-owned plots, ideal for producing limited editions of high-quality wines. The team works directly with local farmers and personally oversees all steps in the vineyard and winery to maintain the utmost quality. They emphasize respect for terroir and traditional Rioja winemaking techniques
